Yesterday, I started making a flight simulator out of cardboard that works with a laptop.

When I started on the buttons that pressed the laptop buttons, I cut out holes the size of the buttons. This didn’t work because the buttons fell through into the back. This time I am going to make holes the size of tooth picks so they can slide, in press the button, and come back out without falling through.
On the back of the control panel, a laptop can slide in and work normally with the extended keys on the panel. I also made a thrust lever that slides back and forth and pushes the number keys.

When I am done with the controls, I am going to make a flight joystick. For the horizon display and gyro level, I am just going to draw pictures. I am also going to add fake dials and switches to fill in the rest of the empty space.
I will post another blog when my flight simulator done.
