Thursday, I finished building one of my detailed cardboard guns. It is modeled after the AR-15. AR-15 stands for ArmaLite Rifle, which is the name of the company that originally developed the rifle platform.

My rifle has a working bolt that is connected to the charging handle unlike my old M16. The charging handle is 3D printed and has holes on the end. I passed rubber bands through the holes so that the charging handle and bolt would go back on their own, like the real gun. Other things that work on it are the dust cover, which can close, and the magazine, which can come out. Like my M16, I made little details like the bolt catch, mag release, fire selector, and forward assist.

On the handguard, there are picatinny rails that have holes so optics, and other things can attach. For optics, I have a holographic red dot, night vision scope, fore grip, laser with a pressure pad, and a flashlight that works.

(Nevermind the cat in the top right corner)

The next gun I’m making is an M4 Carbine.
