I have started working on armor for my friend. It is styled after Peter’s armor from the Chronicles of Narnia. I am going to change some pieces, like his visor and gauntlets.
I have already made the templates for the pauldrons and next I am going to work on a better bascinet and visor. I already have a basinet to use but it is oversized. I am also going to make a different visor than Peter’s because his really isn’t a good design with such a big open hole.
Instead, I am making a Spoleto style bascinet like below, which looks similar while being historically accurate:
I am also making the gauntlets a bit better at protecting protecting the vambrace gap (wrist gap). There is not much armor to make, so we are going to look for fake chainmail clothing to wear underneath so that it looks more finished.
I also made a working crossbow and gave the great bascinet to my friend, as well as a kettle hat for a joke we had.
